BensonEdge builds soccer stadiums and training academies in communities where young people have talent but no infrastructure. We have seen too many gifted players whose careers ended before they began simply because they had nowhere to train, no coach to guide them, and no platform to be seen.
Our academies are free to attend. We believe that financial circumstance should never determine whether a talented young person gets to develop their gift. Every child who walks through our gates is given the same level of coaching, equipment, and opportunity — regardless of their family's income.
More Than a Game — Building Character
At BensonEdge, we use football as a vehicle for character formation. Every session begins and ends with prayer. Our coaches are trained not just in football tactics, but in mentorship, conflict resolution, and values-based coaching. We teach our players that how you play the game reflects who you are as a person.
Our academies run structured programs that cover academic support alongside football training. We believe that a footballer who cannot read or write is not truly free. Our players are expected to maintain their school attendance and academic performance — football is a privilege that comes with responsibility.
We also run life skills workshops covering financial literacy, health and nutrition, substance abuse prevention, and career planning. We want our graduates to thrive whether they make it as professional footballers or not — and most will not, which is why we prepare them for both possibilities.
Building World-Class Facilities
Africa's football infrastructure has historically lagged far behind the talent it produces. BensonEdge is committed to changing this by building facilities that meet international standards — proper pitches with good grass or quality artificial turf, floodlights for evening training, changing rooms, medical rooms, and spectator stands.
These stadiums serve the entire community — not just our academy players. They host local league matches, community events, and national competitions. They become centers of community pride and economic activity, generating revenue through events and creating employment for groundskeepers, administrators, and catering staff.
We also partner with professional clubs and national football associations to create clear pathways from our academies to higher levels of the game. Our talent identification programs run regular trials where scouts from professional clubs can observe our players — giving our graduates a genuine shot at professional careers.
